What to Expect from The Carle SurgiCenter

The SurgiCenter is the only facility in the area developed especially for healthy, active people who need elective outpatient surgery. Often our patients don't like the idea of being at the hospital and want their surgery to be as quick and convenient as possible. At the SurgiCenter we're devoted to caring for healthy people. We have the flexibility to tailor our care to fit your needs.

The Procedure
At the SurgiCenter, your doctor performs your surgery, so you have a chance to ask questions beforehand. In addition, the staff at the SurgiCenter is specially trained and dedicated to outpatient surgical procedures.
 

Recovery
Most patients leave the SurgiCenter within one or two hours after surgery. Recovery for our patients occurs in two stages. The first recovery area is quiet and comfortable, so you can recover peacefully and privately. For the second stage of recovery, patients can get dressed, sit up, eat a snack and watch TV, then rest awhile before going home. If your doctor thinks you need a little extra time to recover, The Recovery Center, located adjacent to the SurgiCenter, is also available.
 

Special Treatment for Kids
At the SurgiCenter we can take more of the fear out of surgery for kids. We treat them like kids, not adults. They can wear their favorite p.j.'s. or bring along their bunny. Whatever makes them most comfortable. Things that hospitals often don't have the flexibility to offer. We also let moms and dads in our pre-op and post-op areas, so kids go to sleep and wake up to a familiar face. And, we have special rooms, separate from adult patients, decorated just for kids.
